Welcome to Martin! This guide will help you create your first project and upload your first script.

Martin is a production platform designed for film and television professionals. It helps you organize scripts, track elements, manage schedules, and collaborate with your team—all in one place.

Creating Your First Project

When you first sign in, you'll see a welcome screen. Click "Let's go!"to create your first project.

Project Information

You'll need to provide:

Project Type
- Episodic: For TV shows with seasons and episodes
- Film: For feature films with units

Project Title
- Enter the full title of your production

Project Short Name (optional)
- An abbreviation or short version (e.g., "BB" for "Breaking Bad")

Logo (optional)
- Upload a project logo (JPG, PNG, or other image formats, max 5MB)

Click Create Project when you're ready.

Adding a Season (Episodic Projects Only)

If you created an episodic project, you'll be prompted to add your first season:

1. Enter the season number (e.g., 1, 2, 3)
2. Click Save

Your season is now ready for episodes.

Adding Your First Episode or Unit

For Episodic Projects:
1. Click Add Episode
2. Enter the episode number (e.g., 101, 102)
3. Enter the episode title
4. Click Save

For Film Projects:
1. Click Add Unit
2. Enter a unit identifier (typically just "1" for Main Unit)
3. Enter the unit name (e.g., "Main Unit", "Second Unit")
4. Click Save

Uploading Your First Script

Now you're ready to add a script:

1. Find your episode in the list
2. Click Add Script
3. Drag and drop your PDF or click to browse
4. Enter the Script Release Date**
5. Select the Script Color (White, Blue, Pink, Yellow, etc.)
6. Select the Script Label (Writer's Draft, Production, etc.)
7. Click Save

Martin will automatically parse your script and extract:
- Scenes with scene numbers
- Characters
- Sets (locations from scene headings)
- Scene descriptions

This process usually takes 10-30 seconds depending on script length.

What's Next?

Once your script is uploaded, you can:
- View your script in the **Script** tab
- Review scenes in the **Scenes** tab
- See all characters in the **Characters** tab
- Manage sets in the **Sets** tab
- Start adding production elements and notes
