What is the difference between Grouping and Merging?
Grouping:
Use this feature for a set with many subparts, like different rooms or areas.
INT. BILL'S HOUSE - LIVING ROOM
INT. BILL'S HOUSE - STUDY
INT. BILL'S HOUSE - KITCHEN
These can all be grouped by the main set name "BILL'S HOUSE' and taking the rooms and making them 'subsets'.
Grouping allows you to:
- Use one set number for all of the sets.
- keep all the sets together on the work notes.
Merging:
Use this feature when a set is the same place with different names.
EXT. THE DRAKE MANSION
EXT MANSION
EXT THE DRAKE ESTATE
Every set has a 'Display name' and an 'Import name'.
