UPDATING SCRIPTS

Learn how to upload a new version of your script when revisions come in.


WHEN TO UPDATE YOUR SCRIPT

Upload a new script version whenever you receive revised pages or a new draft. Martin will automatically compare the new version to your existing data and show you what changed.


TWO WAYS TO UPDATE

You can update your script from two places:


Option 1: From the Episodes Page

1. Go to your Episodes list
2. Find the episode you want to update
3. Click the ellipsis menu on the episode you want to update.

4. Click the "Update Script" option

Option 2: From the Script Page

1. Open the episode's Script tab
2. Click "Update Script" in the top right

3. Click the 'Replace script' button

UPLOADING YOUR NEW SCRIPT

After clicking Update Script:

1. Upload your file: Drag and drop your PDF or click to browse
2. Enter the script details:
- Script Release Date: When this revision was released
- Color: The revision color (Blue, Pink, Yellow, etc.)
- Label: The script stage (Production, Table Read, etc.)
3. Click "Save"

REVIEWING CHANGES

After the new script is processed, Martin shows you a summary of what changed:

- New scenes added to the script
- Removed scenes no longer in the script
- Modified scenes with updated content
- New characters that appeared
- New sets extracted from scene headings

Review the changes and confirm to apply them to your episode.


TIPS

- Keep your revision colors in order - This helps your team track which version they're working from
- Update promptly - Uploading new revisions as they come in keeps your breakdown data current
- Check your scenes after updating - Verify that scene numbers and content look correct
